Saquon Barkley and his family were home when someone broke into their suburban Philadelphia residence early Saturday morning. The Eagles running back and everyone else in the house came away unharmed.

Tredyffrin Township police responded to a burglary-in-progress call at roughly 5 a.m., according to Capt. Tyler Moyer. The suspects were gone by the time officers arrived. At least one of them had been inside the house while the family was there.

Moyer said the department’s first concern was the people in the home, and that they came through it physically fine while “unsettled, as anyone would be.”

Investigators are looking for at least two suspects and have released a photo of a white SUV they believe is connected to the case. Detectives from Chester County are assisting Tredyffrin Township, according to the Chester County District Attorney’s Office.

The DA’s office said in a public statement that it was grateful the family was not injured, and asked anyone in the area to review home security footage from around 5 a.m. for anything unusual. Residents with video or information are asked to contact Tredyffrin Township police.

There is a wider pattern the department is taking seriously. Break-ins at the homes of professional athletes have surfaced repeatedly over the past couple of years, and Tredyffrin Township plans to contact federal authorities to determine whether this case is linked to any of them. Moyer said investigators intend to look at every angle given how often those cases have come up.
