Frankie Westfield picked up the first MLS Team of the Matchday selection of his career after setting up the only goal in Philadelphia’s 1-0 win over Seattle Sounders FC on Saturday.
The Homegrown defender was at the root of the decisive moment in the 31st minute, linking with fellow Homegrown Neil Pierre before Milan Iloski applied a chipped finish that held up as the match-winner. The result kept the Union moving through a six-game homestand at Subaru Park.
The helper was Westfield’s fifth assist of the campaign, a total that leads the team and matches the career high he posted across 25 MLS appearances in 2025.
The honor also folds into a season full of individual recognition for Philadelphia. Westfield is the fifth Union player and the third defender to make Team of the Matchday this year, following Olwethu Makhanya at Matchday 8, Cavan Sullivan at Matchday 13, Iloski at Matchday 15, and Kai Wagner across Matchdays 16 and 17.
